The next ASMC Hampton Roads Chapter Meeting will be on 21 January 2010, 1130 at the Chesapeake Convention Center in Chesapeake, VA. This meeting is sponsored with the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).

ASMC - AGA Spring Mini PDI/PDC


ASMC Hampton Roads Chapter and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) are joining together again this year to have a Spring Mini-PDI (PDC) on 16 & 17 March 2010 at the Chesapeake Convention Center.  This two day event will provide many different types of speakers and provide Professional CPE credits for the CDFM certificate holders. Awards Program



Just a reminder, the American Society of Military Comptrollers National Headquarters is accepting nominations for the 2009 Achievement Awards and the submission deadline is 1 February 2010. Achievement awards will be presented at the ASMC Professional Development Institute (PDI) to individuals and teams who have been nominated for outstanding accomplishment within one of the functional fields of Comptrollership.  The ASMC National Awards Program nomination instructions, guidance and forms are available on the ASMC National website at:

Please send/mail any nominations directly to the ASMC National Headquarters.  The packages must be in Headquarters hands NLT 1 February 2010.  
Also, attached are forms for our Hampton Roads Chapter Award nominations.  The nomination packages are due 1 February 2010.  Please see attached forms for instructions for submitting the package.  If you have problems or questions please contact your Service Awards Chair.

Recap of the November Chapter Luncheon



Navy Capt Pernell Jordan spoke at our ASMC Hampton Roads Chapter luncheon at the Navy Installation Breezy Point Officers Club on 24 November 09 at 1130. The lunch was very delicious consisting of BBQ spare ribs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, stewed veggies and topped off with a delicious apple pie. Capt Jordan's speech title was, Financial Management from an Engineering Officer's Perspective.  Capt Jordan talked about his Engineering Duty Community and specifically Maintenance in Norfolk Area and about the ships repaired at the Newport News Shipyard.

Set Up the EDFMT Class in Your Area



If your Service Agency would like to set up an EDFMT training class to help your people pass the CDFM test and receive the certificate, please contact Ms Janelle Davis, Civ SAF/FMPW. Ms Davis will help direct you to the person that can help provide you with your desired week of training.  Be aware that ASMC HQ National has probably set up the EDFMT training schedule for next year 2010.
